Description

First:  Let me just say that I originally wasn't going to upload this.  I made it some time over a week ago for practice.  But now, somehow, with the whole "Hangle" situation, the picture seems to have more meaning.

I don't "ship" characters, but I could imagine that Foxy could be feeling some seriously sad things if Mangle committed suicide.  As a friend.  I know for sure that IRL, friends of those who commit or attempt suicide feel almost or just as bad as the person struggling with suicide.  It leaves us feeling like we aren't good enough... or like we were a bad friend.  And of course... dealing with the loss is never easy.  Once a person is gone... that's that.  eh, nevermind



Ok, with that out of the way, I might as well just talk about the picture.  I was playing GMOD with PurpleFloof like we usually do, and one of the maps we tried seemed like it would be cool to use in SFM.  Of course, it didn't just import right in, I had to edit and redo the map in the Hammer software to get the lighting and props working.  Thanks goes again to GTApsycho for helping me understand more of the program when fixing the props.

Once that was all good, I decided to try my hand at some new Pirate Cove curtains.  I kinda started with the original texture from that new "updated" Cove, but I didn't like it at all because the curtains aren't poseable enough for me, and the texture is stretched.  Plus, the texture used was never actually accurate to Scott's FNAF1.  So, I made my own texture.  The biggest differences are the purple color is a lot bluer and desaturated.... the stars are redone to have more varied contrast... and the sparkle/dust dots were added.  I then applied the texture to a few poseable curtains and made this scene.  Foxy and the sign were added, just to give the picture more purpose.  Again, it was all just for practice.

But the idea is that the old Splinks Foxy model has been replaced by EA's new model, and everyone is using the new models.  Poor "old" Foxy really will be "out of order" forever.... and alone.

Picture isn't perfect, and errors can be seen, since I really didn't plan to upload it.  Eh, I've got a few things I never uploaded.  3 lights used, as well as a unique camera angle/position.  A slight fog particle effect was applied throughout the scene, like usual, to accent the lighting.

I've realized that I tend to go for more "composition" in my renders, looking for good angles, plays on lighting... in order to really capture the moment..... rather than depicting scenes of action or adventure, or just pointless poses.  My renders are inspired my my previous work with and understanding of photography.... which is why I guess everyone always says that I have a knack for making things look realistic.  I'm just imagining that I've got my camera there, and this is what I'd see if I snapped a shot.  Knowing how to design your lighting for a realistic look is key, as is posing.  Every time, I do the pose IRL to get it right.  Giving the characters a relateable human-like pose helps to bring them to life.  EVERY bone/joint is tweaked, and things repositioned and resized as needed.  The result is simple, yet effective, and I hope original.  As I've inspired other FNAF SFM artists this year, it's becoming harder for me to remain unique.  It's a challenge, and it keeps me on top of my game.
